Biography
I am interdisciplinary research scientist with a strong background in biochemistry, data mining, and toxicology. I enjoy developing and teaching applied sciences courses at all levels including CHEM105: Chemistry for Health Professionals.
Research Interests
My research interests include the development and characterization of murine models of licit drug exposure. Of particular interest is the modeling of potential health impacts in offspring due to maternal vaping and/or cigarette smoke exposure. We utilize 2-hit models of liver injury (drug or diet induced) to examine liver physiology in juvenile and adult offspring exposed during development to commercially available ENDS products and/or cigarettes. The major goal is to understand the underlying biochemical processes that lead to injury and ultimately to prevent this injury through modulation of the impacted pathways.
