Biography

Peter Aghimien earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from The Ohio State University and a master’s and doctorate in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University, with supporting fields in Economics and Finance. He is a U.S. Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Global Management Accountant, and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. His international teaching experience includes visiting professorships at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia, and Université du Sud Toulon-Var in France. Based primarily in the United States, he has taught at Grambling State University, Indiana University, Tennessee State University, Texas Southern University, and DePaul University. He has taught undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.

Professor Aghimien has several years of professional consulting experience in accounting, banking, and international business. Recognized with a Fulbright Scholar award, he is also a recipient of several teaching, service, and research awards. He has published research papers in auditing, international accounting, and financial accounting. Administratively, he previously served as a dean as well as a departmental chair. For excellence in teaching, research, and service, he was granted the status of Professor Emeritus at Indiana University, USA.  He currently resides in Kentucky, USA where he serves at the University of Louisville.
