Biography

Marcus holds an PhD in Business Administration from the University of Scranton, as well as MS in Management with concentrations in Accounting and Accounting Information Systems from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Bachelor’s in Music Composition from Old Dominion University. Marcus has over a decade of experience in the ocean liner and 3PL sectors. His work focused on developing data warehouses, application databases, and web-based systems to enhance business intelligence and data-driven decision-making for a large multinational firm. Additionally, he supported the CFO and internal auditors with data analytics and technical insights for strategic acquisitions. Marcus has also contributed to academic research, coauthoring an award-winning article, “Goodwill Accounting: The Matter of Serial Non-Impairment,” in Management Accounting Quarterly which analyzed 13 years of data to explore trends in goodwill impairment among firms with frequent acquisitions.
