Research Interests

In my research career I have investigated how genetic and environmental exposures impact reproductive and cardiovascular health.  My primary expertise is in reproductive epidemiology, focusing on menstrual function and fertility. With regard to these outcomes I am interested in how environmental exposures such as VOC's, secondhand smoke, and vaping affect hormone levels and subsequently, menstrual function and fecundability. In 2020 and 2021 I conducted a cross-sectional survey of individuals involved in protests who were exposed to tear gas, to assess menstrual function and adverse reproductive health outcomes in both males and females.  I am currently in the process of revising manuscripts from this study and preparing them for submission to journals.

I have also recently been a collaborator in projects investigating genetic risk scores for cardiovascular and kidney disease on hypertension and CKD, in an  African American population, the Jackson Heart Study.

I am currently the population health navigator for the Center for Integrative Environmental Health Sciences renewal. I will help make connections between CIEHS investigators and identify opportunities for population-based research.
