Biography

Dr. J. Pat Moore is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anatomical Sciences & Neurobiology at the University Of Louisville School Of Medicine. 

Research Interests

His research activities focus on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. He is interested in the integration of active learning and technology into the classroom, and the impact of these methods on student performance and motivation. Dr. Moore is currently working on enhancing the presentation of Histology curriculum to better serve as knowledge retained and utilized by Medical professionals throughout their careers. Dr. Moore is conducting ongoing survey studies designed to evaluate the impact of Histology education on the daily activities of M3 and M4 students as well as residents and matriculated clinicians.

 

Dr. Moore is also assisting in the research lab of Dr. Guillermo Rougier. He is conducting morphological analyses of CT scans of several paleontological specimens.  This collaboration has led to opportunities for co-authorship of peer reviewed manuscripts in the field of paleontology. Dr. Moore also continues to write review articles and book chapters related to his previous R01 supported research regarding development and regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal endocrine system.
