Biography
Jocelyn Fetalver is a Teaching Professor of Professional Practice at the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science. She joined Kent School as an adjunct professor in August 2015 and transitioned to term faculty in January 2019. Her commitment to teaching has been recognized by The University’s Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning and by students as a Faculty Favorite, and she has received nominations for the University’s Distinguished Teaching Faculty award. Jocelyn currently serves on the Delphi Center’s Ascend Champions leadership team co-developing a program focused on improving the learning environment for students by engaging faculty with knowledge and teaching strategies to help students thrive and achieve academic success.
Prior to her current role, she served as the Family Services Coordinator at Family Scholar House in Louisville, Kentucky from 2006 to 2018, supporting low-income single parent college students and supervising staff and interns. Her excellence in supervision was acknowledged with the Kent School’s Outstanding Practicum Supervisor Award in 2013. She also played a role in Louisville Metro Government Money Talks Initiative, co-developing and facilitating Financial Empowerment training and being recognized as a Financial Empowerment Champion. Her expertise in this area led to presentations at The Student Parent Support Symposiums at The Ohio State University in May 2015 and Endicott College in June 2017.
A proud MSSW (2006) alumna of the Kent School, Jocelyn has a history of service to the school and the wider community, including serving as a council member and Vice President of the Kent School Alumni Board and a board member and practicum supervisor for Louisville Youth Group.
