Biography

I am a cancer biologist/molecular biologist with a main interest in the RAS oncoprotein and its relatively under-studied effector suite of RASSF proteins.  We were the first to clone and characterize most of the RASSF proteins.  We have performed pioneering studies in elucidating their biological role in human disease.  Although I have been working on the basic biology of RAS since 1985, over the last 10 years or so I have progressively shifted emphasis and established an anti-RAS drug development program.  These efforts have led to the awarding of multiple NIH and DOD grants, the awarding to two patents and a Sponsored Research agreement with a biotech company to develop a compound towards an IND filing.
