Biography

Dr. Emily M. McRae, DNP, obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with her work focused on the development of an Advanced Practice Provider Council in a Children’s Hospital. Emily has practiced as an acute care CPNP for more than 15 years at Norton Children’s Hospital in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Louisville, KY.  Emily holds a dual faculty appointment with the University of Louisville (UofL) Schools of Medicine and Nursing.  

Research Interests

Dr. McRae has published and presented work on APRN professional issues, leadership, and pediatric acute and primary care. She has participated in original research on APRN intubation practices and is leading ongoing QI work on safety for children with medical complexities.
