Biography

Since 2015, my involvement with the University of Louisville School of Medicine (ULSOM) has steadily grown, leading me to take on increasingly significant leadership positions. During this time, I have played a key role in shaping and implementing the school’s strategic plan for community engagement, as well as developing impactful training and professional development programs. My work is deeply rooted in addressing the medical needs of underserved populations in Kentucky.

Beyond my leadership responsibilities, I have been entrusted with establishing and strengthening community partnerships to support student recruitment, expand pathways into the physician and science research workforce, and promote equitable healthcare access both within the school and the broader community. I collaborate with the statewide Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) on various education and community-based initiatives and actively participate in both the Northwest AHEC and statewide AHEC advisory board meetings.

Research Interests

My research interests include community-engaged approaches to advancing health equity, improving healthcare access, and addressing social determinants of health in underserved communities. Areas of focus include health and food access, community–academic partnerships, community engaged scholarship, and pathways into medicine for students from underrepresented backgrounds. I am also interested in how institutional climate and culture shape belonging, well-being, and the experiences of faculty, staff, trainees, and students.
