Biography
Austin Echols is director of the University of Louisville Singing Cardsmen. Under his direction, the Singing Cardsmen performed at the 2026 Kentucky Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference. Austin is also the Director of Music at Christ Church Episcopal Cathedral in downtown Louisville. He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Louisville. Prior to pursuing conducting, Mr. Echols worked extensively as a performing artist, primarily devoted to choral and vocal accompanying. He has played for numerous school, collegiate, and community choirs, KMEA All-State choirs, and honor choirs and conferences for KY-ACDA. His compositions and arrangements have been performed locally and abroad by school, church, and collegiate choirs including during Evensong from Selwyn College, Cambridge in a live broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
