Biography

Dr. Izyumov Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Louisville. A graduate of Moscow University he worked at the International Economics unit of the Russian Academy of Sciences consulting for the USSR and Russian government and the United Nations. As a business consultant helped to organize some of the first joint ventures in Russia. He later taught economics and international relations in Europe, Canada and the US, including lectures and seminars at Harvard, Columbia, MIT, Tufts, Brown, Berkeley, and Stanford. Published more than sixty academic articles on economics and business. Worked as a columnist for  Newsweek International in 1989 -1997. Contributed to The Washington Post, International Herald Tribune, The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, Globe and Mail, Le Figaro. Appeared on CNN, ABC, Fox Business, NPR, MS-NBC, BBC and other networks. Worked in and/or traveled to more than eighty countries.
