Kentucky & Southern Indiana Scholarships
Admission-Based Scholarships
We strongly encourage students with qualifying ACT/SAT scores to submit those to automatically receive their award.
Kentucky and Southern Indiana students* who meet the minimum criteria will automatically receive awards following admission to UofL. No scholarship application is required.
The University of Louisville guarantees Admission-Based Scholarships until May 1, 2021 for students entering UofL in the fall. We will accept scores for tests taken over the summer.
The scholarship amounts listed are available for students entering in Fall 2021.

Competitive Scholarships
- Students wishing to apply for competitive awards or enhancements must submit an application admission to the University of Louisville by December 15. Supporting materials such as transcripts may be submitted until January 15.
- Students who are eligible to apply for competitive awards or enhancements will find their next steps in their UofL Application Gateway soon after they apply to UofL (whether they applied to UofL with or without test scores). We will look primarily at a student’s grades, high school curriculum, a student-involvement resume and other materials based on the scholarship. As with any year, there are limited scholarship funds. The deadline to apply for these awards or enhancements and submit materials is January 15 unless otherwise noted.
Trustees' Competitive Scholarships
The consideration for these awards is primarily based on a student-involvement resume (view resume scoring rubric), which should include but is not limited to
- honors and awards
- service
- extra-curricular activities
- work experience
- The University of Louisville will award approximately 150 Henry Vogt Scholarships (full tuition + $3,500 final award amount).
- Applicants not receiving the Vogt Scholarship will be eligible for additional $1,000-7,000 awards, which can be stacked on Admission-Based Scholarships.
Woodford R. Porter Scholarship
Awarded to Black/African American students based on academic merit, leadership and service. Award values vary; 200+ awarded
Kentucky Dataseam Scholarship
Awarded to ten students from schools participating in the Dataseam research and workforce development program.
The Fall 2021 scholarship application will be available after application in your UofL Application Gateway.
- $2,000 renewable award; 10 awarded
- Students must meet the University of Louisville's admission standards and pursue a degree in science, technology, engineering or math while attending the University of Louisville.
- Students must submit a Kentucky Data Seam Scholarship application, a student-involvement resume, and request a letter of recommendation to be submitted by January 15.
Mentored Scholarships
In addition to monetary awards, these scholarships have significant programming components which can include travel, leadership, service, research and more. View resume scoring rubric.
