Master of Science in Civil Engineering
In addition to completing the application for admission and paying the $65 non-refundable application fee, applicants must have:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred*
Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work from accredited institutions

The successful applicant will typically have an undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
The successful applicant will typically have a GRE combined Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning score of 295 or above.
* Applicants with similar degrees will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Applications received at least six weeks prior to the beginning of a term will be given priority.
International students' bachelor's degrees in engineering must be assessed to ensure that entrance requirements are met. If you live outside of the United States and intend to complete an online academic program from your home country, be sure to view special requirements for international students.
International students will not be issued a U.S. visa if admitted to the Master of Science in Civil Engineering online program, since there are no campus attendance requirements. All courses in the program are taught 100% online, allowing you to attain the entire degree from the comfort of your home and at any time convenient for you, regardless of your current location, anywhere in the world.
Preferred Application Deadlines
- Fall – Submit COMPLETE application by August 1
- Spring – Submit COMPLETE application by November 30
- Summer – Submit COMPLETE application by April 1
Note: Applicants are encouraged to work on and submit their complete application well in advance of the preferred deadline, as obtaining transcripts, test scores and other materials may take more time. Applications submitted or completed after the preferred deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis for the next available start/term.
