Online courses for students enrolled in non-online plan codes are charged at the same tuition rate as campus/in-person courses. Students are charged in full for online courses according to those rates even if taking a full-time course load. If you're receiving a tuition scholarship, please check the terms of the scholarship award to determine whether the cost of online courses is covered. Online Course Fee Per Credit Hour
To enhance the online learning experience and further meet the needs of our students, all online courses are assessed with a $10 per credit hour fee, approved by the Board of Trustees, effective Fall 2024. The Online Course Fee funds initiatives to enhance the quality assurance of online courses, support online success coaches and services for students, and provide access equity for all students.

The online Bachelor of Social Work incurs additional costs ranging from $122 to $172 for the entirety of the program. The online Master of Science in Social Work incurs additional costs ranging between $200 and $800 throughout the entirety of the program.

Note: These costs do not include textbooks. Textbook costs vary greatly between courses (as required by the respective instructors) so it is difficult to predict the total.
Courses participating in the Follett Access program allow students to receive all required course materials as part of their course registration. Required course materials are offered at a reduced price and billed upon registration in a participating course. These costs will show up as additional fees for any course participating in the program. You will see a notification in the Schedule of Courses for participating courses.

Use your Kentucky National Guard Tuition Assistance at the University of Louisville, up to your Lifetime state tuition assistance cap of $50,000. For additional information visit the Kentucky National Guard’s website: https://state.nationalguard.com/kentucky.
Service members who are not eligible for the Department of Defense tuition assistance rate of $250/credit hour will pay the standard tuition rates for online courses. Students may use other benefits including GI Bill to cover tuition cost. Before applying, service members should contact an enrollment counselor to determine their eligibility for the various tuition rates.
A waiver of tuition is an education benefit provided by the Commonwealth of Kentucky in recognition of military service of certain Kentucky veterans. The tuition waiver is provided for children, stepchildren, adopted children, spouses, and un-remarried widows and widowers.
