Each residence hall room and designated undergraduate apartment is provided with one internet connection per resident. Designated family apartments have one drop per apartment. Wireless internet access is available throughout all of our residence halls.
If you have any issues with your internet connection, you can contact the Help Desk at 852-7997. IT also provides iTech Connect to answer your questions about technology and to provide information about IT services.
Information Technology Standards:
As part of the housing license, you have agreed to abide by the Information Technology computer usage policies. You can review the policies and standards in their entirety by going to InfoSec Policies and Standard.
The important thing for you to know is that you have a responsibility to help maintain the health of the network. This would include:
- Maintaining all security updates on your electronic devices
- Have up to date virus/malware protection.
- Have a strong password
- Do not share log in information
- Do not put routers (wireless or wired) or hubs on the network
When you initially access the internet on the UofL network, you will be required to log in. Periodically you will be prompted for your login information.
