Congratulations to Dr. Konrad Bresin for receiving Varda Shoham Clinical Science Training Initiative Award
Implementation and Evaluation of a LGBTQ+ Couples Workshop in a Psychology Training
The overall goal of this project is to add to the breadth of services already provided by the Nobell H. Kelly Psychological Services center at the University of Louisville, by implementing better together, an empirically supported intervention for LGBTQ+ couples. Subsumed within this goal are three subgoals. First, Dr. Bresin’s treatment team will obtain training in Better Together (Whitton et al., 2016; 2017), an empirically supported intervention for LGBTQ+ couples. Second, we will implement Better Together in our training clinic and community settings. Finally, we will conduct a small-scale evaluation of the intervention to ensure effective implementation. Specifically, participants in the workshop will complete measures of communication, relationship satisfaction, and relationship instability will be assessed pre-program and 3 months post program as in the validation studies (Whitton et al., 2016; 2017).
