Physics (Minor)

Complements any major by building problem-solving, math and analytical skills through core physics coursework. Students explore fundamental principles and apply them in labs while tailoring electives to their academic and career goals.
Type: Minor
Format: In-Person
Credit Hours: 18

Strengthens analytical and technical skills for students in any field. After completing foundational courses in mechanics, electricity, magnetism and modern physics, students select upper-level electives to match their interests—from applied physics to astrophysics. With just 18 credit hours, the program adds depth to majors like engineering, computer science, chemistry or mathematics while preparing students for graduate study or careers that value strong quantitative reasoning.

This program was approved for students entering the university in the Summer 2025-Spring 2026 catalog year. For more information about catalog year, go to Catalog Year Information.
