Linguistics (Minor)

Explores language structure, acquisition and use across cultures. Students gain analytical and critical thinking skills, preparing them for careers in education, communication, research and fields that value language expertise.

This 18-credit minor includes an introductory course, intermediate courses on language, culture and philosophy, and upper-level electives in syntax, phonetics, psycholinguistics and applied linguistics. Students develop a deep understanding of language systems, social and historical contexts and communication patterns, preparing them for interdisciplinary applications in professional and academic settings.
