Ryan Quarles for Governor Internship

Senator McConnell Internship Program

The McConnell internship program provides college students with the opportunity to enhance their education while working in a fast-paced office of a national leader. Participation in the program allows interns the ability to gain valuable inner-office experience as well as increase their knowledge of issues important to both the Commonwealth and our country.

If selected to be an intern for Senator McConnell you will be assigned as either a legislative or press intern. Legislative interns assist staff by researching current legislation and drafting constituent responses. Press interns assist staff by tracking current news and legislation, assisting with press events and drafting press releases. All interns perform other daily office duties including: sorting mail, making copies, giving tours of the Capitol, and answering telephones.

Applications for internships must be post-marked on or before the following deadlines. These deadlines are the same each year, so please be mindful of the day of the week and plan accordingly.

Congressman Thomas Massie Internship

WHO:Any student who is enrolled in either college or graduate school and is at least 18 years of age or older is eligible to apply. While preference is given to constituents of Kentucky’s Fourth District, all candidates that submit completed applications will be considered. Successful candidates must possess notable academic and extracurricular achievements, leadership potential and a strong writing ability. Applicants must exhibit a pleasant office demeanor and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced atmosphere.

WHAT:This is an internship in Congressman Thomas Massie’s office for students who are interested in gaining hands-on experience and learning about issues that are important to Kentucky and to the United States.

WHEN:Internships are available for the Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Internships in the district require a minimum of eight hours per week.

WHERE:Congressman Massie’s offices are located in Crescent Springs, KY and in Washington, D.C.

WHY:The Congressional Internship Program is designed to provide students with a first-hand experience of the inner workings of a Congressional office that cannot be replicated in a classroom environment. The program will provide eager and motivated students with a solid foundation upon which they can explore their career options. Academic credit can be applied upon discussion with the Internship Coordinator and respective School Administrator.

Team Mitch Internship Program

The Team Mitch Internship Program intends to give students the opportunity to enhance their civic education, provide real-world political experience, understanding of developing grassroots initiatives, campaign experience, and to develop a deeper understanding of Kentucky politics and party organization. Interns will work alongside Isaac Oettle in the field interacting with candidates, donors, and county officials to develop the knowledge to run an effective ground game for a campaign. Projects will include the organizing and attending of events for statewide candidates, door knocking, making voter contact calls, and making recruitment calls. There is no better opportunity to learn how campaigns develop and function than this internship.

Republican Party of Kentucky Internship

The RPK internship program intends to give students the opportunity to enhance their civic education, provide real world political and campaign experience, and to develop a deeper understanding of Kentucky politics and party organization. Interns will work with RPK staff, county party leaders, elected officials and political candidates on projects related to research, fundraising, communications, data, and more. Applicants must be ready for a demanding, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. Internships are available in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. During an election year, exact dates may be subject to change.

Jefferson County Republican Party Internship

The JCRP internship program intends to give students the opportunity to enhance their civic education, provide real world political and campaign experience, and to develop a deeper understanding of Kentucky politics and party organization.  Interns will work with JCRP staff, county party leaders, elected officials and political candidates on projects related to research, fundraising, communications, data, and more.  Applicants must be ready for a demanding, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. Internships are available in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. During an election year, exact dates may be subject to change. An intern during the summer should expect to work at least 20 hours per week, while interns during the fall and spring should expect to work at least 10 hours per week.

Spring: February 1 – May 1
Summer: May 15 – August 15
Fall: September 1 – December 1
