In the UofL Philosophy department, our faculty and students are advancing their fields of inquiry with contributions to scholarly literature and ongoing conversations with philosophers around the world. But, like many philosophers, past and, present, we are deeply engaged in the world. We use philosophical tools to help shed light on major social problems and conflicts. We engage the broader public as fellow investigators of the deepest questions of human life. And, through our speakers' bureau, we work with organizations and small groups to think through the problems that affect them.
