Pre-Matriculation Program

The University of Louisville's School of Medicine Summer Pre-Matriculation Program is designed to enhance academic, personal, and professional growth by further developing study strategies and coping skills while introducing 1st year medical school coursework and selected curriculum components.  Priority is given to 1st year medical students from medically underserved counties, populations underrepresented in medicine, and disadvantaged backgrounds.  The purpose of the Pre-Matriculation Program is to help ease the transition to the professional school environment by exposing students to key aspects of their first year prior to the beginning of the academic year.

Upcoming Program Dates are from June 29, 2020 - July 23, 2020.

Program Components:

          * Develop peer study groups before academic year starts

          *Establish support system

          *Begin Establishing daily routine

          *Become familiar with campus and community

          *Get to know faculty, staff and upper-level professional students

          *Preview 1st year medical school coursework

          *Experience medical school coursework, labs, quizzes

          *Participate in personal and professional development workshops

          *Enjoy clinical exposure

          *Learn about research opportunities and practice
