Application Process
Requirements: To apply for the epilepsy fellowship, candidates must have an M.D., D.O., or equivalent international training and will have completed an ACGME-approved residency in neurology (adult or pediatric).

Application Requirement
1. Completed University of Louisville Fellowship application
2. Successfully completed the USMLE step 1, 2, and 3
3. International medical education candidate must be ECFMG certified
4. Candidates must be J-1 Visa, EAD, or Green Card holder, or US citizen
5. Evidence of completion of an ACGME accredited Neurology (pediatric or adult) residency
6. Copies of certificates
7. Three letters of recommendation
8. Personal statement describing candidate’s background, clinical & research interests, and career plans.
Applicants are invited to interview based on a composite evaluation of USMLE scores, transcripts, letters of recommendation, and personal statement.
Fellows/residents entertain candidates during the interview day, which gives the candidate and the resident/fellow opportunity to discuss particulars of the program and topics that may not be mentioned during a fellow interview.
On interview day the candidate will meet with faculty and a current fellow. A candidate discussion is held with the interview committee; this committee constitutes the selection committee. The committee submits their selections to the Program Director for final approval.
