Career Changers
The Career Changer Component
This program is the first of its kind in Kentucky. It's one program with two components; career changer and record enhancer. The career changer component is a two-year program designed for career changers who have earned their bachelors, masters or a doctoral degree from an accredited U.S. college/university and desire to become a physician, but lack the pre-med requirements and preparation to apply to medical school. We have fall admission only and offer 10 spots. For more details please contact our service account, attend a virtual info session or schedule an appointment with our staff.
Academics and MCAT Preparation
Each student has a program plan tailor made just for them. Students attend school either on a part-time or full-time basis. Students may work while in the program and must maintain a minimum of six credit hours per semester (summer courses are optional). Most classes are available morning, afternoon and evening during the week. Classes are taken with the general student population, including current undergraduate students. Our program is not responsible for the course offerings, the availability of courses or which instructor is teaching the course(s). Course offerings are determined by the individual department and the College of Arts & Sciences.
Our students receive a complimentary self paced MCAT prep course through the Princeton Review, a U World Question Bank Subscription and many other helpful resources.
Extracurriculars
In addition to taking pre-med course work and preparing for the MCAT, our students participate in enrichment and extracurricular activities. This includes group service projects and volunteering, shadowing physicians, attending monthly enrichment, etc. We want to empower our students to be well rounded and competent applicants for medical school and as future health professionals.
One Stop Shop for our Students
We promote a student friendly environment that provides guidance and support for our students throughout their pre-med journey.

Camaraderie not Competition
Both components provide our students with a guaranteed support system that will guide them through the entire pre-med journey regardless of where they choose to attend. The career changer component offers assured admission to the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Our students don't have to compete with undergraduate pre-med students for advising or the services necessary for medical school preparation. They receive personalized attention while in our program and become a part of a supportive pre-med community.
"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." - Quote from Andrew Carnegie
