Applicant Requirements
Citizenship: U.S. citizen or permanent resident.Degree: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
GPA
- Career Changers: Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3
- Record Enhancers: Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.9 (exceptions may be considered for slightly lower GPAs).
- Career Changers: 0-12 credit hours in pre-med biology, chemistry, or physics.
- Record Enhancers: more than 12 credit hours of pre-med coursework, or completed MCAT.
Required Materials
- Test Score: Submit one qualifying standardized test score.
- Recommendation Letters: Two letters of recommendation, recommenders may include professors/instructors, advisors, mentors, supervisors, colleagues, health professionals you've shadowed or met with, volunteer coordinators, etc. Anyone who can speak about you academically, professionally or personally (e.g., volunteer, community member, mentee, etc. Family members are NOT recommended.
- Resume/CV: Upload your current resume or CV.
- Transcripts: Official transcripts from each U.S. college/university you have attended is required
- Pre-written Essay Submissions:
- Explain why you have chosen the University of Louisville Post-Bac Pre-Med Program and identify specific aspects of the program that align with your goals and will support your success.
- Discuss your aspirations to become a physician. Include the personal and professional attributes that make you well-suited for a career in medicine.Special
- Circumstances Essay (Optional) Share any unique or challenging circumstances you would like the committee to consider. These may include academic, professional, or personal obstacles you have faced and how you overcame them.
