Pediatric NeuroRecovery Summit: Advancing Research and Rehabilitation - March 30, 2017

The purpose of the Pediatric NeuroRecovery Summit 2017 is to disseminate and accelerate the translation of recent evidence into practice to advance gains in neurorecovery, function, and quality of life during activity-based rehabilitation in children age 12 and under with pediatric-onset spinal cord injury. In addition, participants will identify gaps in our current knowledge and practice, e.g., bladder recovery or impact on musculoskeletal system, and thus lay the foundation for future research to advance practices focusing on recovery as opposed to compensation and management after spinal cord injury (SCI). Our overall aim is to increase appropriate referrals, improve comprehensive, collaborative medical care, and advance future research posed at identified gaps in knowledge.
