Metropolitan College (MC) is an educational benefit available to eligible part-time, nightshift employees at UPS Worldport UPS. For additional information about Metropolitan College, visit metro-college.com, contact the MC staff at AskMetro@kctcs.edu, or stop by the MC office on the lower level of the Houchens Building between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Note: The Metropolitan College Program does NOT cover the cost of housing. MC only covers the cost of tuition. Housing costs are the financial responsibility of the student

Highlights

  • The Metropolitan College Themed Community provides new and continuing MC participants the opportunity to reside with other students with nightshift work schedules at UPS.
  • University of Louisville students with signed Metropolitan College agreements are eligible for full undergraduate tuition at the resident rate for fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  • In addition to the MC tuition benefit, Metropolitan College participants are eligible for a $250 fee payment, the potential for academic bonuses, a graduation bonus, first-day priority course registration, and an individualized career development program.
  • The cost of University Housing is not covered by Metropolitan College.

As a MC Student Success Counselors, Shelly guides prospective, new, and continuing Metropolitan College participants with the steps required to receive MC benefits each semester. Shelly’s advises all MC participants to sign their agreements as early as possible each semester, to prioritize their sleep, and to rely upon the MC team for support and guidance. Working nights while attending college can be challenging at times, but the rewards of Metropolitan College are significant!
