BOOST Award for Online Undergraduate Students
Funded by UofL’s online course fee, the Benefit to Offset Online Student Tuition (BOOST) Award supports undergraduate Kentucky residents enrolled in more than 12 hours of coursework for online degree programs for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. This award pays tuition costs beyond 12 credit hours, up to 15, subject to available funds. It may not cover the entire cost of a course beyond 12 hours. The goal is to help online degree students stay on track toward graduation without additional financial burdens.
BOOST is open to all eligible students regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for the BOOST Award, you must:
- Be a Kentucky resident
- Be enrolled full-time (more than 12 credit hours) during the fall, spring, or summer semester
- Be enrolled in a designated fully online undergraduate degree program as of the first day of the semester
Who is Not Eligible?
You are not eligible for the BOOST award if any of the following apply:
- Receive a tuition-specific award that fully covers your tuition (e.g., KRS tuition waiver, UofL employee/dependent tuition remission, etc.)
- Enrolled in 12 or fewer credit hours
Awarding Process
- No application required—eligible students are automatically identified based on enrollment.
- Students will be notified via email, and the BOOST award will appear on their account as “Potential Aid.”
- Final eligibility will be confirmed after the Second Half-Term 25% tuition reduction withdrawal date (Fall/Spring). Registration Calendar
- Awards will be disbursed by end of term and notifications sent once awards are posted to student accounts.
Note for Summer
Summer term awarding may follow a different review timeline.
Future Awarding
While we strive to offer BOOST each semester, awards are based on funding availability.
