Khaldoun Almousily
Biography
Khaldoun Almousily is an instructor in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages. He serves as the coordinator of the Arabic program. With a strong background in curriculum design, intercultural communication, and second-language acquisition, Khaldoun has 18 years of experience teaching Arabic language and culture. He teaches a variety of courses in Modern Standard Arabic, Arabic dialects, translation, and debate skills. He has played a key role in developing innovative teaching methods that combine debate and intercultural communication within language learning. With his support, the Arabic program has expanded its offerings and community involvement, including conversation tables and debate competitions. Khaldoun is also a Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Louisville. His research focuses on intercultural communicative competence among American students studying Arabic in the Middle East and North Africa, with an emphasis on pre-departure preparation and enhancing study abroad programs. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences. Committed to student success and program growth, Khaldoun continues to advocate for the importance of Arabic language education in fostering global citizenship and cross-cultural understanding.
