The University of Louisville has a number of programs with The Academy @ Shawnee as part of its commitment to the school and the west Louisville community. These are a few of the programs currently in place led by various academic units within the university.
Cardinal Success Shawnee - Provides a practicum site for educational and counseling psychology students and art therapy students to assist in developing clinical skills working with a high school population of generally under-served children, as well as families.
UofL Talent Search - provide a "college going culture" and steers students toward such resources as academic enrichment courses, tutoring, career guidance, and financial aid.
Psychiatric Consultation to Cardinal Success Program - The School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics/Child Psychiatry provides psychiatric evaluation and consultation in collaboration with the Department of Educational and Counseling Psychology in the College of Education and Human Development.
