CeLOUbrate Print 2024

Presenter: Rachel Single – Department of Studio Art & Design/College of Arts & Sciences, Erica Lewis – Department of Studio Art & Design/College of Arts & Sciences

CeLOUbrate Print is a community printmaking project, coordinated by UofL Ph.D. student Erica Lewis with support from UofL Art Professor Rachel Singel. In years past, Singel brought steamroller printing to the Portland Museum, taking this historic medium into the community. Last year, Lewis took on the event as their Professional Project, seeking to expand its scope utilizing their studies in Public Humanities—such as leading free woodcut workshops around Louisville to invite more community participants. CeLOUbrate Print 2024 culminated in a print-focused maker faire, an exhibition of local prints, and Singel's steamroller printing at the Portland Museum.
