Community Engagement
Addressing the needs and interests of our communities locally, statewide, nationally and internationally.
Kimberly Goughler, 2014 staff recipient of the Outstanding Community Engagement Award with cadets from JROTC program at Jeffersontown High School
A student leading the first campus effort to build a Habitat for Humanities home. A professor who created a social group for people with Alzheimer's disease and their caregivers. A staff member who helped expand facilities for Marine cadets at Jeffersontown High School. And a West Louisville community center working with faculty and students in UofL's nursing, education, social work and music schools to improve the quality of life for families.
All four are 2014 winners of UofL Community Engagement Awards, an honor presented each fall to those who set an outstanding example of UofL's close relationship with its community. Each honoree receives a cash award of $2,500 and a crystal plaque.
