Dr. Sachin Handa was awarded the NSF CAREER Award
Dr. Sachin Handa has been awarded the NSF CAREER award ($685K in grant money). With this award, his group will study metal-micelle cooperativity for selective catalysis in water. In addition, he has also received grants from BIG PHARMA (Novartis, Takeda, AbbVie).
Since joining the Chemistry Department at the University of Louisville in August 2016, he has published several research articles in high-impact journals. On multiple occasions, his group’s research was highlighted in C&E News and featured on various journal covers. His research team is a leading group for chemistry in water, green and sustainable chemistry. In 2018, he was recognized with two significant awards: (i) ACS GCI Pharmaceutical Roundtable Peter J. Dunn Award for Green Chemistry and Engineering Impact in the Pharmaceutical Industry; and (ii) 2018 Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award in Physical Sciences by ORAU. Currently, he serves on the editorial board of two major peer-review journals: ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering, Molecules, and Johnson-Matthey Technology Reviews.
