2023-2024 Dorothy Gibson Memorial Fellowship and Arno Spatola Endowment Fellowship Nominations are now being accepted

Dorothy Gibson Memorial Fellowship
The 2023-2024 Dorothy Gibson Memorial Fellowship will begin July 1, 2023 and go through June 30, 2024
with no extensions or renewals. It includes a $25,000 stipend, tuition, benefits, and up to $2,000 to
support attendance and presentations at conferences which includes registration and travel.
Applications are limited to Ph.D. candidates that entered the graduate program in Fall 2019 or Spring 2020
who have completed ALL the Ph.D. milestones through the research proposal with a minimum GPA of 3.5
in graduate courses (excluding research) at UofL.
Arno Spatola Endowment Fellowship
Applications are being accepted for the Arno Spatola Endowment Fellowship. The fellowship awards an
exceptional Ph.D. candidate that is mentored by faculty from the Chemistry Department. The awardee
will receive a stipend in either Fall 2023 or Spring 2024 for $12,500, with $6,250 provided by the
Department and $6,250 provided by the faculty advisor. Tuition and benefits will be paid by the
Department for the period of support.
Applications are limited to Ph.D. candidates mentored by faculty from the Chemistry Department that
entered the graduate program in any year so long as they have entered M.S. candidacy. Consideration
will be given to an award that leads to the opening of an additional GTA line.
