Urban Studies Prof. John Gilderbloom on the impact of chromatic homes
A&S professor of Urban Studies John Gilderbloom explores the effect of color in urban areas his new book, "Chromatic Homes", (University Press of Kentucky). In his book, he describes how cities have rejuvenated entire neighborhoods by following the concept of the "chromatic home", or, three or more colors embellishing architectural details.

Hydrogen Fuel Research Tests Sustainable Catalyst Development
Scientists at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky., are working on a method to generate hydrogen fuels that significantly lowers energy use. This research on catalysts for hydrogen attracted combined funding of more than $1 million from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and Department of Energy (DOE).

Middle Eastern Studies alum awarded $25,000 Mary Churchill Humphrey Scholarship
Dever, who is pursuing a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Studies with Arabic, is funding much of his graduate education through the Mary Churchill Humphrey Scholarship — a UofL College of Arts and Sciences prize that provides up to $25,000 for graduate study in the United Kingdom.

Shireen is currently an Evaluation Researcher at REACH Evaluation which consults with non-profit, for-profit, philanthropic, and governmental entities in support of efforts to improve services and bring about organizational and community change. She was named one of Louisville Business First’s “2018 Forty Under 40.”
