Celebrating Muhammad Ali Scholars 2015-2017, 2017-2019
On March 30, 2017, the Muhammad Ali Institute held an event to celebrate the 2015-17 Muhammad Ali Scholars and welcome the new 2017-19 Muhammad Ali Scholars to the program. This event, held at the Muhammad Ali Center and generously funded by Donald Lassere, Director, recognized the achievements of the 2015-17 Muhamad Ali Scholars including their transformational journey learning about social justice issues in Peru, and their social justice project collaborating with YouthBuild Louisville. We also welcomed the incoming 2017-19 Muhammad Ali Scholars. The current scholar group gave a presentation about their experiences, the amazing bond they created during the two-year scholarship program, and they shared advice with the incoming scholars. Dr. Mordean Taylor-Archer and Donald Lassere were featured speakers at this event.
