Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship

For much of the first year, the hematology/oncology fellow will be assigned to the inpatient service at Norton Children’s Hospital. Working alongside a full-time faculty member and other healthcare personnel of the interdisciplinary team.  The fellow will manage in-patients with presumed and established hematology and oncology diagnoses. This rotation also provides the opportunity to gain proficiency in bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, and lumbar puncture with the administration of chemotherapy. During this inpatient rotation, the fellow will become the primary care provider for various oncology patients that they will follow in the outpatient continuity clinic under the supervision of a faculty member.

During the second and third year of fellowship training the fellow will perform a clinical or laboratory research project. Fellows are given the ability to pursue a Master's Degree in Clinical Investigation Sciences during their second and third year of training while completing their research project.
