It was 40 years ago this week that ABC television presented a nationally televised, live performance at the Red Barn of singer Dan Fogelberg debuting the song, "Run for the Roses," on the eve of the 106th Kentucky Derby. This private event was attended by invited guests of ABC television, including actor Jack Klugman (who had a horse named Jacalyn in the Derby) and selected UofL students, faculty and staff.
