The University of Louisville (UofL) is a R1 Research University. Students accepted into the IPIBS program work with faculty in the School of Medicine (SOM) which provides many outstanding research opportunities. Acceptance into one of the five basic science departments provides access to research laboratories across the basic sciences as well as within clinical departments or research centers. THE APPLICATION PROCESS
Deadline for departmental applications is January 15 2025
Acceptance into the program involves three components:
1. Select one of the five basic science departments to apply to.

3. Admission: Accept the IPIBS Fellowship
IPIBS Fellowships consist of a stipend of $33,000 (starting Fall 2024), tuition waiver and health-care benefits for the first two years of coursework. Ph.D. students in good academic standing will receive continued financial support from their department for the remaining period of their graduate study.
