This committee, comprised of all residency program directors and representatives of the house staff council, is responsible for monitoring compliance with ACGME standards; review of all residency programs; establishment and implementation of policies for selection, evaluation, promotion and dismissal of residents; appropriateness of working conditions; and review of ethical, socioeconomic, medical-legal and cost-containment issues that affect graduate medical education.
