Awarded to an individual faculty member or a faculty-led team.

Nominations

Completion of information requested in Microsoft FORMS and a current CV is all that is needed.  However, please note 1.) the more detailed the information entered into the form, the more information the review teams have to make their decision for the recipient of the award. 2.) you will need to specify the category for which the nominee is being nominated. Self-nomination is not allowed.

Purpose

This award is to recognize an individual faculty member or a faculty-led team of the School of Medicine community that continue to go above and beyond their primary responsibilities to promote, support and create initiatives that positively affect the school’s diversity, equity and inclusion climate and anti-racism efforts.  We aspire to highlight and broadcast innovative efforts of DEI and anti-racism initiatives. Our purpose is to encourage, celebrate and honor these efforts in bettering our community. This award may be given to an individual or a team.

Criteria

  • DEI/anti-racism work must not be a primary work assignment responsibility or primary team function.
  • Primary appointment must be within University of Louisville School of Medicine
  • Work in the following areas may be considered, but other topics related to DEI and anti-racism work will be considered:
    1. Recruitment/retention of diverse staff/faculty
    2. Leading engagement efforts in focused DEI initiatives to improve work/community climate
    3. Lead initiatives in improving university culture awareness and sensitivity
    4. Activities that provide DEI professional development to students/trainees/staff/faculty in the School of Medicine/University/Community
    5. Active involvement and promotion of DEI related programs, initiatives or projects
    • Impact/Effectiveness the nominee or team has made on the department/school/community
