What I like about our program: I was really impressed by the inpatient psychiatric training that this program has to offer, and during interview season I would always compare other programs to UofL. The inpatient unit at UofL functions as a med-psych unit, allowing us to develop a strong foundation in basic medicine in addition to psychiatry. The emergency psychiatric services is another unique facility that does not exist in most training programs. I was confident that UofL psychiatry would provide me with the best training for my future goals. 

What I like about Louisville: Louisville is the perfect blend of the down to earth vibe of the Midwest and the hospitality of the South. Also, I'm a big foodie and I love trying new cuisines at local restaurants. From fried chicken to delicious seafood, Louisville has it all. There are a wide variety of restaurants here, and I have yet to experience a meal that I don't love! 

Career Goal: So far I'm mostly interested in general adult psychiatry, preferably in the inpatient setting. I'm not sure whether that will be in a dedicated psychiatric unit or C/L psychiatry, so only time will tell!
