What I like about our program: There’s a huge diversity of clinical experiences. Working in several different environments with unique patient populations facilitates learning and eases the transition from residency to practice in terms of what areas of psychiatry suit you most. Plenty of social activities to choose from as well.
What I like about Louisville: Louisville is home. I was born and raised here, but know a lot of outsiders that have moved here and never left. We don’t really fit into the South, the Northeast disowns us, and we disown the Midwest. It’s a truly unique place with an emphasis on arts and music, food and drinks, and of course, the most exciting 2 minutes in sports, the Derby.
Career Goal: Generally, I just want to help people understand themselves a little better and, in turn, live a little bit better of a life, while minimizing harm. Specifically, addiction is a field where one big change can not only improve someone’s quality of life, but quantitatively, can give decades back to their longevity.
