Dr. Lippmann provides medication management and psychotherapy in our outpatient service. He received his undergraduate degree in Zoology and his medical degree from the University of Texas. Dr. Lippmann completed his psychiatric residency training at the University of North Carolina. He received his board certification in psychiatry in 1978. In addition to his clinical service, Dr. Lippmann directs our nationally known Observership Program, for highly qualified foreign medical graduates, providing them with the experience needed to successfully compete for a residency at a U.S. medical school. He has been a formal Academic Advisor and Student Advisor and is the official Dean’s Office faculty sponsor to Norwegian exchange students and other foreign student mentorships. Dr. Lippmann mentors his colleagues at medical publication preparation and lectures on a range of topics including somatic therapies, substance abuse, violence, and advanced psychopharmacology. He is a member of numerous departmental and university committees. Dr. Lippmann was nominated for the University of Louisville Multicultural Teaching Award.
