“Serving as SSH president is one of the greatest privileges of my life,” Dr. Calhoun told IMSH attendees. “We have big goals for the coming years that will improve simulation training across the international simulation community. This includes collaboration with sister programs around the world to tackle problems of worldwide importance, working with the members of those societies to streamline research evaluation and guideline creation, and incorporating new technology in ways that strengthen and improve training and patient safety.  We are also developing mechanisms to gather and archive data in ways that enable our entire community of practice to benefit from the work done at individual centers.”

Established in 2004, SSH is a 501(c)(3) with more than 5,400 members from nearly 70 countries who seek to improve performance and reduce errors in healthcare through the use of simulation and serve a global community of practice enhancing the quality of healthcare.
