How long have you worked in Pediatrics?   Counting residency and fellowship, 35 years (28 years as a faculty member)

What is your favorite thing about your job?Almost everything.  I get to do what I love every day and lead an incredibly talented and dedicated group of people.

What is your favorite movie?
I don’t really have a favorite.  Favorite movies are tied to key events in my life or happy memories.  One of my most favorite memories is seeing Dr. Zhivago at the Louisville Palace when I was in Junior High. Generally, I prefer live performances, especially musicals.

Tell us about your family:
My husband is Jim Kotowski who is a mechanical engineer.  We have 1 daughter, Lydia Kotowski, who just graduated from Ball State and will be attending Law School at Ohio State this fall.

What are you doing, where are you going, for your next vacation?
That’s a really good question in light of the current state of travel.  We were supposed to be going to London and Edinburgh this month.  Our next planned trip is to Banff.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I did not have any idea except I knew that I like the sciences.

What is one of your proudest accomplishments?
Building and leading the Pediatric Critical Care Division for so many years. 

What is your favorite quote?
Just about anything from Winnie the Pooh.  You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think is probably my favorite on any given day.

What was your first job?
Working as a cashier in a small grocery store during high school.
