Peds PICU raises money to feed adult EDs and ICUs during COVID-19

Jamie Furlong-Dilliard, MD proposed to the PICU facebook group followers to collect money and send food to the Norton adult EDs and ICUs because they are getting hit harder than Norton Children's Hospital.  In a little over 48 hours, $3500 was collected from the Division and ICU nurses/staff.  Between the donated money and vendor contributions, food was delivered by multiple restaurants to all adult Norton facilities (EDs and ICUs), UofL Health ED, Baptist Health ED, LMPD and Metro fire department(s) the first week of April.  The vendors did not want money but Drs. Furlong-Dillard and Henderson convinced them to take the funds because one of the goals was to help small businesses.

Kudos doctors. This act of kindness speaks volumes to your dedication to the Louisville community. We are thankful and proud to have you in our Department.
