Dr. Rodgers Fund
It is with a great fondness we remember Dr. George Rodgers, who spent 40 years with the Department of Pediatrics.
Described as "a seemingly unstoppable force as a Pediatric Hospitalist," Dr. Rodgers joined the UofL School of Medicine in 1981. He held many leadership roles, including Research Director of the Division of Pediatric Intensive Care, Director of the Divisions of Pediatric Critical Care and Pediatric Pharmacology/Toxicology, and Chief and Humana Chair of International Pediatrics. His contributions to pediatric medicine, both locally and globally, are immeasurable.
Jackson Williams, current Division Chief of Global Health, describes Dr. Rodgers as "a tireless advocate for the health and well-being of children both here in Louisville and across the globe. He was the founder of our University of Louisville global health programs, and he touched countless lives through his work in Eastern Europe, South America, and Africa. We hope to continue this legacy through the ongoing work of our Division of Pediatric Global Health.”
If you would like to honor his memory, we ask for a small donation to support the mission of Pediatric Global Health, the division that Dr. Rodgers dedicated his pediatric career to.
