UofL Internal Medicine Awards Day recognizes trainees, faculty

The 2023 Internal Medicine Awards Day event honored the graduating trainees of the UofL internal medicine residency and fellowship programs

A class of residents and fellows who began their respective journeys in the darkest of times have worked hard and persevered to have the brightest futures.

The University of Louisville Department of Medicine and Internal Medicine Residency Program presented virtually the annual Internal Medicine Awards Day as a way to honor the trainees and faculty who have maintained a strong commitment to medical education through the depths of a global pandemic.

"As we find ourselves at the end of another academic year, it is important to take a moment to reflect upon and celebrate the many accomplishments of our trainees and to thank our faculty for their dedication to medical education," Dr. Jennifer Olges, director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program said. "On behalf of the Department of Medicine and the Internal Medicine Residency Program, I wish each of our graduates the best as they take the next steps in their careers."

Joining Olges were other residency and fellowship directors to honor individual award winners, and to also thank the trainees and wish them well as they continue their medical careers in various academic and private practice opportunities.
