Adult Structural Heart Disease
Managment of (ASHD) at the University of Louisville is focused on adult patients with congenital or acquired structural heart disease. Our team [listed at right] are experts at the diagnosis and treatment of adult congenital and acquired anomalies of the heart. We offer consultative and diagnostic services to patients and their families and provide a comprehensive and definitive treatment plan. Currently, apart from medical management, two treatment strategies exist for treatment of congenital and acquired cardiac structural defectsadult structural heart disease, namely, surgical (open-chest/heart) and transcatheter (percutaneous or catheter-based). Our interventional and surgical team is able to address disorders of the heart with minimally invasive methods.
