Dr. George Higgins Receives Awards from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences
George Higgins, professor of criminal justice of the department of criminal justice, received two prestigious awards from the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS). Higgins has been given the Academy Fellow Award for 2022. This award recognizes scholars making a distinguished contribution to justice education and scholarship. Additionally, he and his co-author, Shaun Gabbidon, won the ACJS Outstanding Book Award for their work entitled, "Shopping While Black: Consumer Racial Profiling in America." This award is given in recognition of the best book published in the area of criminal justice.
